StivaSoft Developer Licence: Specifics and Benefits.

With effect from today, 28 Feb. 2013, a new End-User Licence Agreement will be governing our PHPjabbers software products.  We have updated mostly the part that grants rights and imposes restrictions on the use of the software under Developer Licence. Further down we explain the most important changes to the PHPjabbers EULA. See the full text of the Agreement here.

Developer Licence gives you the right to:

REMOVE STIVASOFT COPYRIGHT MARKS

Developer Licence allows you to remove the original StivaSoft Copyright Notice from the Source Code and the product front-end, if you choose so.

MODIFY THE SOFTWARE

With Developer Licence you have the choice of modifying the software source code to better fit your company's needs. You can make your own changes to both design layout and product features. A Developer Licence gives you freedom to make any software modifications that will suit yours or your clients' requirements.

INSERT YOUR COMPANY NAME

With a Developer Licence you may display a notice such as "Managed by YourCompany" if you maintain the software and / or provide technical support on your behalf or in other cases “Powered by YourCompany” on the front-end. 

MULTIPLE INSTALLATIONS

A single Developer Licence allows you to install and use the product on up to 5 /five/ domains (separate installations). Note that you can renew your Developer Licence at any time by ordering another Developer package. You can order an unlimited number of Developer Licenses, so practically you are given an unlimited license to use the software.

OUR COPYRIGHTS

Developer Licence does NOT transfer the copyright to you. Please do not insert "Copyright by YourCompany" title or in any other way state that you own the copyright of the software. You may display notes such as "Managed by YourCompany" or "Powered by YourCompany" or any other note but in any case should such a note misleads anyone that you own the copyright. You cannot write or state anywhere that you are the owner of the copyright or use the copyright symbol in your notices.

ADVERTISING AND MARKETING THE SOFTWARE

As cool as Developer Licence is, it does not allow you to re-sell our software, or share and sublicense your rights. The software may be used for your web development projects and distributed as a part of an integrated product, but it cannot be offered for re-sale.Please, do not present the licensed software as a part of your services or product(s) in a way that advertise, promote and/or market the software, show its interface and/or functionality to potential customers or end-users, including but not limited to Demo presentations, web pages, video or other multimedia explaining the software features and presents the look and the feel of the software.

CORE FRAMEWORK 

With Developer license you can make all kinds of changes to our products. You can change the layout, add new features or change the way current features work. Anyway the core files for our framework is not where you need to modify to make such changes. You are not allowed to change these core framework files or remove the installation key generated during the installation.

ACTIVATION 

Developer Licence requires activation key every time you install the software. Please, do not install the product without providing a valid license key (if such as required) and without using the original product installer wizard. The Licence key is provided to you when you legally acquire the software and you will need to use this key during each single installation.

CLOUD-COMPUTING AND SAAS

Developer Licence does not allow you to create and offer remotely hosted solutions based on the StivaSoft product(s) and offer the product(s) in cloud-computing environment for a fee or not. To avoid misunderstanding, remotely hosted solutions are software products hosted on a different server than the end-user’s server and delivered as a service over a network where all application functions are performed off-site.
