Happy International Children's Day!

We have all been children. So June 1st is yet another reason to celebrate life and remember our first steps, teeth, and relatively meaningful thoughts! Besides, most of us have been blessed with wonderful kids (one, two and even three...) Those who still think sleepless nights are all about fun, at least have enough nephews and nieces to exercise and outsource some useful experience.

Today we are switching the time machine on, and kindly invite you to come aboard and meet our “mini-me’s”! We’ve done well so far in keeping the children in us alive. We’ve only grown a bit. So have our dreams. (Thank you, Peter Pan!)

Our colleagues’ kids are always welcome to our premises. Some of them even helped us out with the interior design of our new office in Varna despite their busy schedule and ballet classes. On our part, we are always ready to jump over in cases of sudden toy fights in the kindergarten, tedious parent meetings and prematurely broken hearts. Because time, devotion and - last but not least - good example is the best gift for our children.

Some history (We know you loved it!)The International Children’s Day is recognized on different days across the world. The idea of honoring kids and drawing attention to children’s issues dates back to 1925 (World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children, Geneva). Since 1950, the International Day for Protection of Children is feasted as Children's Day on June 1 in many countries, among which Bulgaria. (The United States, for example, celebrate it on the second Sunday of June, which falls on June 12 this year.)

The date November 20 marks the day on which the United Nations Assembly adopted the famous Declaration of the Rights of the Child, back in 1959, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, 30 years later, in 1989. Hence, this very date was proclaimed as the Universal Children’s Day. So, you are strongly encouraged to celebrate your universal inner child in 5 months, too.

Kinder SurpriseIn Bulgaria, traditionally kids receive very special attention and gifts (for exceptional merits) from their mom, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents, as well as special discounts from toy stores, sweet shops, amusement parks etc. (So will ours.) Question is, who will surprise us, the big children? :))

It turned out that our colleagues in HCMC, Vietnam also celebrate the Children’s day on June 1st. Guys, you will also not get off with the rollercoaster, the sweet cotton and the Water Puppet Show. Enjoy the ride!
