PHPjabbers.com and its SEO

As you know we’ve recently made a major update to our primary business website - www.PHPjabbers.com. Besides the new look the website has a completely re-written HTML code and it’s now hosted on a more powerful server, hence the IP address is different. The thing that we were most concerned about before migrating the website was keeping its current search engine rank.

We’ve done a lot of things to avoid any negative effect over website pages rank:

1) keeping same web page file names

2) using the same file structure for all website sections - scripts, tutorials, forum, etc..

3) optimizing the web pages content - meta tags, alt tags, nofollow links where needed

4) 301 redirects for pages which were replaced with new ones

Now, 10 days later, it seems that Google still “likes” our website and this gives us confidence that we did it all right. We’ve always had good ranking for some very popular search terms and now it seems that we are getting even better.

“booking script” - 160 000 000 results and two of our products take place 1 and 2 “ticket booking script” - 189 000 000 results and again we have the first 2 places “event booking script” - 26 000 000 results and …. YES we did it again - first 2 places !
