Developer vs User licence

As you all know we have two different licences for our products - User and Developer. On FAQ page for each product and on the Terms & Conditions page we've tried to explain what the differences between the two are and what rights you have using each licence. We receive questions about this from time to time so I decide to further explain it.

The main difference between User and Developer licence is that with Developer licence you receive FULL php source codes - no files are protected or encoded. However, with User licence all php files are encoded using Zend Optimizer engine. This means that you do not have access to actual php code with User licence and that your web server should support Zend Optimizer in order for it to read and execute our files.

Developer licence gives you freedom ! Having a developer licence you are allowed to do almost everything - remove our copyright notices, change colors and layout, modifying an existing feature or adding a new one. You can virtually do everything with our script. You can put your own company name on the product and your own logo, however you cannot tell that you own copyright. For example you can say "YourCompany product name" but you cannot say "Copyright © YourCompany".

The difference between both is that in first case you say that your company provided the script to your client but in second tag line you say that you own copyright, which is not true. Another advantage of having developer licence is that you are allowed to install the script on every website that you make for you and your clients. There is NO limit for number of websites where you can install the script. With User licence you can install it on one domain only. Of course if you have one website only when you buy a product but later create second website you can easily upgrade to developer licence by just paying the price difference between both licences. It's important to understand that with any of the licences you are not allowed to offer our products as a remotely hosted service, to resell them or to transfer licence to other people/companies.

For a detailed list of things that you are allowed and not allowed to do please refer to our Terms & Conditions page. If any questions arise, please do ask them using the form below.
